Fatema Shabbir Shamim – founder of HUMAN SCALE DESIGNS.
Fatema Shamim has completed her education in Interior Designing from Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai.
Fatema started her career with Somaya and Kalappa Consultants Pvt. Ltd. in the year 1996 and went on to further work with several reputed architectural firms such as Edifice Architects Pvt. Ltd., S+PS Architects and Design Inc. Each experience always made her yearn for something more, something new and that’s how Human Scale Designs was conceived, when she felt she needed to have a firm of her own, which will do projects reflecting her values and beliefs.
After almost spending 15 Years in various firms, where Fatema picked up the nuances, she ventured on her own in the year 2011. That’s when Human Scale Designs was born, which is an attempt at expressing her beliefs towards how spaces should be designed. It’s a new firm with a lot of experience behind it. It stands for Fatema’s belief where she strives to create spaces that are timeless and which are not driven by fads and styles. In the journey of creating spaces which impact people at physical and spiritual level, her endeavour is to also to explore, experiment and enjoy the evolution of design.
